Glossary of landscape architecture and related fields

Landscape architecture, as defined in this glossary, is the art and science of arranging land so as to adapt it most conveniently, economically, functionally, and gracefully to any of the varied wants of people. From this definition, it is realized that landscape architecture relates to many disciplines ranging from a basic science to an applied science and technology of both natural science and social science including ethics and aesthetic. As for Indonesia, specifically in the Department of Landscape Architecture, Faculty of Agriculture, Bogor Agricultural University, landscape architecture has been being developed to consist of three branches of supporting discipline namely landscape planning and design, landscape management, and landscape plants and planting design.
